I can understand why children have guinea pigs, they are just a pet that they can look after, in fact they can keep them in their room or next to their bed and watch as they grow up. But as for adults that collect guinea pigs, a little harder to fathom in my mind. So why do they? Ok a breeder will sell them to the local pet shop that will then sell them to the kids, but what about other adults that still keep guinea pigs in their house.

In the hustle and bustle of life do they provide some comfort for our ego and egocentric lives, or are they just a bit of respite from work to take your mind off things on a cool winters night, or is it just a bit weird?

I’d like to think maybe it provides some respite for our ego and egocentric lives, and it’s just a good healthy hobby and no more than that. But it doesn’t really cut it when you compare to the companionship a dog provides to an adult versus a guinea pig!

Why Do People Lie Discussed by Brian and Sue

I walked in on a discussion between Brian and Sue. Brian was a big English mastiff. Brian was a burly dog with big ears and paws like a pair of size 10 Blundstone boots. Whereas Sue was a Chihuahua cross pug, just a small dog with heaps of personality. They are great mates and spend the days playing and lying around together. On top of this they sit around all day and listen to humans talking.

So the other day I walked in on Brian and Sue talking to each other about lying. Sue asked to Brian “why do people lie?”

Then I realised they were talking about me and my friends sitting out the back drinking beer and chatting, and they obviously picked up on, in between the general chat and laughter a few tall stories and I suppose if I’m honest a few lies.

So back to Brian and Sue, their basic conclusion as to why people lie was inconclusive as they got distracted by a thong they were chewing but needless to say they are onto me.

The Australian cricketer and team captain, Michael Clarke is a great player but why captain? It feels a bit like Brian Lara. It’s easy to miss the fact that a captain has virtues that don’t necessarily relate to brilliance in other areas of cricket. Clive Llyod the West Indian cricketer had the classic captain’s temperament. The passengers could not complain less. However, when it came to security, there weren?t enough lifeboats on the Titanic and that really was a bad coincidence for them. When they hit the iceberg, if they had enough lifeboats for all, no one would have died in that crash. It was plain stupidity that struck them.
